Our
Mission
At The Music in Me Studio LLC, our mission is to share the joy of the arts, help students grow in their abilities, to teach with love, and to help students discover their version of success.
Our founder and studio director, Becky Barrett-Jones has had the privilege of singing in a variety of places. She first began singing in her church and more recently she has performed in many of her bucket list theatre roles, a national tour, and with a Christian trio. She also studied piano and clarinet and became the drum major for her high school marching band.
Becky has a BA In Accounting from Capital University with a minor in music and an MA In Music Education from Wright State University. She’s owned the Music in Me studio since 2007 and teaches voice in the theatre program at Wright State. Becky also music directs youth and adult productions across the Miami Valley. Becky will continue to teach voice and piano for all age ranges in her home studio alongside managing the Springboro studio. She is grateful to share her passion for teaching with former students and colleagues!

Guitar
Montana Iverson
Montana is a Springboro native and previous student of Becky Barrett-Jones with 16 years of experience in various facets of live performance. He has been singing and acting in musical theater since he was 10 years old, playing guitar/bass since he was 13 years old, and has played live gigs both solo and band all around the Dayton area as well as Nashville. He is also a recording artist, including writing and performing credits on the studio album Roots by Bohemian Funk (recorded in Nashville by Grammy award winning producer Jeff Thomas) as well as self written and produced original music. Apart from his years of tutelage under Becky as a young singer, he also had the privilege to take training from Dr. James Tipps during his time at Wright State University. Most recent performance work of his includes La Comedia Dinner Theatre, Kings Island, Center Stage Atlanta, and 54 Below in NYC. Montana offers beginner guitar lessons, commercial pop/rock vocal techniques, and assistance with self-tape auditions and demo reel editing. Whatever your needs may be, he is excited to work with you and help you follow your dreams!

Voice, ages 5-11
Raegan Rigmaiden
Raegan is a current student at Sinclair Community College. She leads worship at Southbrook Christian and was a previous student of Becky’s for 7 years! She is a member of Prime Acapella and has sang for funerals, weddings, singing competitions, and been a part of many musicals. Raegan specializes in working with young students and she will be the primary voice teacher for 5-11 year olds.

Eba Marie Porter
Eba is a professionally accomplished life coach, teacher, music director, vocal coach, and vocalist, and is the Worship Director at Restoration Church in Dayton, OH. Eba has performed as a lead vocalist with the legendary Zapp Band, as well as a background vocalist for Shirley Murdock.
She is a graduate of Colonel White High School for the Arts and Wright State University.
Eba will be working with adult students, as well as with middle and high school students focused on commercial music, praise and worship, and theatre. Her life's mission is to help others discover their God given purpose and live out their dreams. She is living her own dream as the wife of her best friend Darryl together with their four incredibly talented children in the northern Cincinnati area of Liberty Township, Ohio.

Acting
Alan Bomar Jones
Alan is a highly experienced international actor, director, and teacher with a distinguished career spanning over 50 years in both stage and film. As a personal acting instructor, Alan provides coaching to artists of all ages, preparing them for stage auditions, college auditions, movie casting, and occasionally offers classes through The Music in Me Studio. In addition to his work as a personal acting instructor, Alan is an established Ohio Arts Council-Teaching Artist, performing in various educational and community settings such as middle schools, high schools, charter schools, senior living facilities, recreation centers, and local colleges. Currently, Alan serves as the Producing Artistic Director at Town Hall Theatre in Centerville, Ohio, teaches Acting Aesthetics at Wright State University, and is a resident artist with the Human Race Theatre Company. Alan's vast experience and expertise make him a valuable asset to the
performing arts community, and his dedication to educating and mentoring aspiring artists is truly commendable.

Sam Evans
Sam is beyond thrilled to join The Music in Me Studio after meeting Becky through Wright State’s BFA program. She has studied as one of Becky’s students for 5 years and is excited to take everything she has learned and inspire someone else! Before teaching, Sam could be seen onstage with TheatreLab Dayton (Something Rotten),
LaComedia (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), The Carnegie (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), and, of course, Wright State University (The 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee).
Sam’s love of music started in musical theatre combined with her training in choral and classical music. She is able to find a deeper understanding of music’s value on paper as well as its deeper historic and stylistic intentions.

Adelyn Rae Helms
Adelyn is a previous student of Becky’s, taking lessons from her for 8 years, until she went off to get her BFA in Musical Theatre from Ohio Northern University. After graduating, she was a Tour Actor/Director for Missoula Children’s Theatre, growing her passion for teaching. Currently, she directs theatre productions and one of the a cappella groups and Chaminade Julienne High School and works at Human Race Theatre Company as Communications Coordinator. Additionally, she is consistently performing professionally in the Dayton area. She will be teaching commercial, musical theatre, and a cappella style voice, along with acting coaching. Adelyn is grateful and overjoyed to be performing and teaching in her hometown and is hoping to help nurture students to flourish - the way Becky did for her!

Emma Fleming
Emma grew up in Miamisburg, OH and took every music/ dance class available to her. She fell in love with singing and vocals thanks to working with the amazingly talented Becky Barrett-Jones. In school, she was in choir, jazz band, and symphonic band for the tenor sax and was also the drum major for the Miamisburg high school marching band in 2014. In college, she graduated from Miami University with her BA in Kinesiology and Health Science. Emma will be teaching piano as well as musical theatre voice. Emma currently lives in Columbus with her husband and two dogs and she is the owner of Monster Baby Donuts, which specializes in gluten-free vegan baked goods

Voice
Sylvia Caridad Bordelois
While originally a Cleveland native, Sylvia is so excited to be working in the Dayton area with The Music in Me and their wonderful community of students. She is currently getting her BFA from Wright State University's Musical Theatre program, and recently completed Levels 1-3 of Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method in the summer of 2024.
Sylvia works with all age groups and can teach different genres spanning from pop/rock, classical/choral, musical theatre, and latin music. As a Cuban-American artist, she is also available to offer classes in Spanish for those in the area working on English as a second language.

Acting & Voice for Theatre
Julia Gomez
Julia is a proud graduate of Wright State University, where she earned a B.F.A. in Acting and a B.A. in Spanish. As both an actor and educator, she has worked with professional companies across the Midwest, including Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Hope Repertory Theatre, and Short North Stage. Locally, she has directed at Springboro Community Theatre and choreographed stage combat at Kettering Fairmont and Beavercreek High Schools. Julia currently teaches Spanish at Archbishop Carroll High School, where she also assists in the Drama Department and serves as a Muse Machine advisor. She is grateful for the opportunity to support students on their own artistic journeys—just as Becky has guided her!

Carly Shepherd
Carly is a rising professional actress and singer from Cincinnati, Ohio. She got her BFA in Musical Theatre at Shawnee State University where she trained in the vocal styles of opera, classical, and musical theatre. She also trained in ballet, jazz, modern, and tap dance technique. After her 5 years at SSU, she then moved back home to pursue theatre professionally around the state including the Weathervane Playhouse, La Comedia Dinner Theatre, Cincinnati Landmark Productions, and The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. Personal favorite credits are Aldonza (The Man of La Mancha), Patrick Star (The Spongebob Musical), Suzy (The Marvelous Wonderettes), Trish (Kinky Boots), Edna (Bright Star). Carly also works with WEBBY Dance Company, where she goes to schools and daycares teaching young kids of all ages the love of dance and technique in ballet, jazz, and hip hop.

Audrey Williamson
Audrey fell in love with music in her hometown, Urbana Ohio. Her musical journey began with piano lessons, playing percussion in the school band, and involvement with her church musical productions. Complete immersion in her high school music programs (playing snare drum in marching band, musical theater, and choir), inspired her to study Music at Wright State University. Audrey soaked up every experience in college from singing at Carnegie Hall and the National Cathedral to starting a pop a cappella group. Following graduation in 2013, Audrey began teaching private voice and piano lessons. She enjoys working with all ages and teaching music theory. Audrey married a barbershop-enthusiast, Philip, in 2015. Together, they have two little boys and two beloved dogs!

Dance
Karie-Lee Sutherland
Karie-Lee has worked professionally in the entertainment field for over 20 years. As a singer/dancer, she toured the world performing for the DOD-USO and is a veteran of live shows at Kings Island. She has also worked for King’s Productions, where she wrote and directed touring shows for Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo, and the Flintstones. She was a Broadcast major at UC’s Conservatory of Music, and has received several Orchid awards, as well as a State Octafest Award for choreography. Karie-Lee has worked as an actor, director and choreographer for various theatre companies in the Cincinnati area, including Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, Showboat Majestic, LaComedia Dinner Theatre, Miami University Theatre Department, and Educational Outreach Shows for Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park. Favorite Regional Theater roles include Morticia in The Addams Family, Tanya in Mamma Mia, Miss Sandra in All Shook Up, and Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray.. She has attended the Broadway Teachers’ Workshop in NYC, where she took classes in dance, actor’s movement and directing with instructors from the Broadway productions of Newsies, War Horse, and Tony Award winning director John Rando. Karie-Lee is is also a part of the CCM Preparatory Department Theatre Arts Division faculty, and you can find her on YouTube at Still Kicking with Karie-Lee.

Studio Administrator & Voice
Madeline Sherck
Madeline is originally from the Tipp City, OH area and was heavily involved in the theatre scene of Dayton before going to college to pursue Musical Theatre. She has performed with La Comedia Dinner Theatre, The Muse Machine, Vandalia Youth Theatre, Children’s Performing Arts of Miamisburg, and at Bethel High School, where she went to school. Madeline then went to Shawnee State University pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre performance, where she grew more involved in technical theatre roles and fell in love with stage management. She now is pursuing a career as a stage manager while continuing to perform and sing for fun! Madeline is so excited to be involved with The Music in Me Studio and looks forward to interacting and meeting everyone!
