Natural versus Easy...

The words natural and easy are often used interchangeably, including in the worlds of singing,

acting, dancing, and sometimes even in playing instruments. For today’s example, we’re going

to focus on the world of singing. Many have learned that aiming for the most "natural" state of

making sound is the easiest. Unfortunately, since sound production, language, and singing are

all things we learn through observation and interpretation - there is a lot that can get lost in

translation. This means that you could have interpreted a sound you learned from your parent

or teacher at a young age in a way that was highly inefficient. This now becomes your

"natural", but it doesn't make it easy.

To make something easy, means to achieve efficiency. Meaning, we put the least amount of effort in to achieve the desired outcome. More simply, we put less work in, and we get more sound out.

As you work through the sounds you make, take time to evaluate the way that you sound and

whether what you’re creating is easy and sustainable. We love the natural sounds that you

bring to your craft and are excited to find ways to make those feel comfortable and easy

without losing who you are. This allows us to help you create your most interesting and

compelling sound!

In order to keep our students, staff, and teachers safe, we take extra care of our students, teachers, and families. We foster transparency between teachers and parents with office staff. We also offer an open-door policy for parents, which means that they’re
always invited to sit in on their child’s lessons.
